About Me

Welcome! I'm Louie,  also known as TatKingLouie, originally from Fayetteville, NC. I’ve been drawing since I was a little one. Art has always been an outlet for me and a true passion. All throughout school, including college, I’d create dope pieces and hang them up in my bedroom or keep them in my portfolio. People would tell me time and time again how talented I was and that I needed to do something with it. Of course, me being me, I didn’t listen.

I knew I was talented, but I didn’t see how I could bring that talent and tie it into what I studied (psychology). I’ve had jobs in various areas that just weren’t sufficient for me. They didn’t give me what I needed or wanted in my career, which was to 1. Enjoy the work, and 2. Build bonds with people. I’m a people person! I love talking and listening to others, making people laugh, and just building bonds with people. My mom and uncle (who was more like a brother to me) came together and bought me my first tattoo gun. My uncle initially wanted me to finish his tattoos. His words were “tattooing is just like drawing, except on skin”. My uncle unfortunately passed before he could see me do my first tattoo, so now, every tattoo I complete is in memory of him.
